ARE YOU AWARE OF WHAT A TYPICAL COUNTERFEIT BATTERY CAN DO TO YOU?
So you think getting a typical counterfeit* battery may be easier on your wallet for now. However quality and safety problems may surface only upon extended usage.
There are risks that you undertake when you choose the wrong battery.
- It may reduce the sensitivity of the radios
As a typical counterfeit battery may deviate from the exact specification of the radio, it may cause the latter to be ’desensitised’. Radio coverage ,ay drop. And your emergency call may go unheard
- It may give an inaccurate battery strength indication
A typical counterfeit battery may be incompatible with the charger and fail to obtain an optimum charge. The lack of smart chips in them may also lead to a false reading on the battery strength indicator, adversely affecting the radios ‘Low Battery’ gauge
- It lowers your efficiency
The advantage of having an ‘always-on’ mode of communications is lost if shorted battery life, poorer transmission and unreliable performance were to plague you
- It may not be durable enough
The materials used in the manufacturer of a typical counterfeit battery may not be strong enough to withstand hard knocks, drops or temperature extremes. Constant replacement of less durable batteries may end up costing more than what you bargained for.
- It may compromise your safety
Typical counterfeit batteries may not be designed with acceptable margin of safety or lack certain safety components. This could ultimately endanger your safety.
- It may have a short lifespan
Alas, the frustrating problem of “my battery died on me prematurely”. A typical counterfeit battery may not use premium grade cells, resulting in shorter battery life and overall battery lifespan.
By comparison, Motorola batteries are co-developed with the radios they are designed for. Such precise compliance is necessary to ensure the radio’s maximal transmission and reception coverage. The batteries are also subjected to meticulous testing to verify their operational capability when operating in diverse conditions.

PROPER MANAGEMENT OF END-OF-LIFE PRODUCTS
Motorola is committed to being a partner on protecting our environment, safety and health
ECOMOTO Takeback is but one of the many initiatives that Motorola is undertaking to ensure that the world remains a safe place for now and for the coming generations
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE RECYCLING FACILITY?

INTRODUCTION
As a responsible corporate citizen, Motorola is committed to the safety of our people and the protection of the environment. One of the many programs initiated is the ‘ECOMOTO Takeback’.
WHAT IS ECOMOTO TAKEBACK?
- To cultivate, reuse and recycle initiatives for the protection of our environment
- To initiate industry-driven “responsible care programs”.
WHAT IS THE SCOPE OF ECOMOTO TAKEBACK?
End-of-life Motorola products such as mobile phones, two-way radios, broadband devices, batteries, network equipment and accessories such as chargers, hands-free accessories, and cables
HOW DOES ECOMOTO TAKEBACK WORK?
This program is designed to be very simple and convenient for the consumers. When a Motorola product reaches its end of life, drop into a ECOMOTO Takeback bin located in our office. Authorised contractors will collect and transport these items to approved recycling facilities.
HOW DO I GET RID OF END-OF-LIFE PRODUCTS?
Small products such as mobile phones, two-way radios, batteries and accessories can be dropped into our ECOMOTO Takeback bins. For larger products such as broadband devices and network equipment, please email to 2ways@wireless2way.com.au
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF ECOMOTO TAKEBACK?
Our goal is to protect our environment. Motorola responsibly designs our products in strict accordance with regulations and standards to protect human health and the environment. Electrical and electronic equipment may still contain substances that, if mismanaged, are not beneficial to the environment. Sufficient quantities of these substances over time could harm the environment. As a responsible corporate citizen , we have responsibility to do what we can to minimise potential negative risks. Furthermore, Motorola products contain materials that can be reused and recycled to complete the loop and reduce the pressure on resources.
At Motorola, the recycle-and-reuse process is done even before environmental laws and regulations make it mandatory to do so and before environmental quality is made a trade pre-requisite. Motorola is committed to continuous efforts to prevent environment pollution and make all of its products “green” or environmental friendly
